Mission, Vision, & Values

MISSION STATEMENT (WHY WE EXIST)

Hopegivers International provides help for today and hope for eternity through initiatives by our Ministry Partners to rescue orphaned and abandoned children, assist the needy and oppressed, empower the work of the Gospel, and work toward fulfilling the Great Commission.

CORE VALUES & STATEMENT (WHAT WE ARE COMMITTED TO)

Hopegivers International is a Christ-centered ministry committed to:

  • Integrity. We strive to always remain above reproach before God and man.
  • Compassion. We desire to be sensitive to the needs of those God allows us to serve.
  • Service. We have been called-individually and corporately-by God to be part of what He's doing through our partners, and we offer our lives in service to Him and the vision of this ministry.

Statement: Hopegivers International is a Christ-centered ministry committed to integrity, service to God and His vision for this ministry, and compassion towards those we serve, regardless of race, creed or religious affiliation.

CORE VISION & STATEMENT (OUR PASSIONATE PURSUIT)

Hopegivers International will fulfill its God-given mission of redeeming children through the power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and raising them as "arrows for God."

Statement: Based on Psalm 127:3-5, Hopegivers seeks to fulfill M.A. Thomas' "One Million Arrows - Orphan Vision " by: gathering orphaned and abandoned children throughout the world, sharpening them mentally, spiritually, and physically in our Hope Homes and Bible Colleges, and launching them back as a spiritual gift and godly heritage into their own societies, equipped with the Word of God to fulfill the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20 and Revelation 7:9).

What Makes Us Different?

We believe the main thing that sets us apart is our life-long, multi-faceted approach to helping, empowering and equipping people. We believe the ones whom the world looks down on or disregards--the orphans, widows, poor and oppressed--have great value and are worth our time, energy, resources and full support.

From the time an orphaned, abandoned or at-risk child is rescued, we want to help raise, care for, educate and prepare that child until they are ready to become a self-sufficient, responsible adult. Our work doesn't stop there. After a child moves on from a Hope Home, our vision is for Hopegivers sponsors to continue encouraging and supporting them in whatever field they choose. Our vision is for the orphans to put into action what they've learned in our Hope Homes; which in a very small nutshell is to love God and to care for their fellow man in every way possible. This is what leads to positive community transformation. Who better to lead the charge than previously unwanted, poverty-stricken children?

We want to see the Hope Home model duplicate itself; to see orphans growing up to care for more orphans, widows and anyone else in need, and to see them making a positive impact in their communities. We want to raise compassionate, socially aware children because more often than not, this leads to compassionate, socially aware adults. Our Hope Homes are not just a roof, a floor and four walls, they are dynamic, loving homes where lives are restored, blessed and enriched.

This is a special and unique calling. The prospect of taking in needy children and raising them well is an extremely difficult job. This is why another HG distinctive is the way we view prayer. On a daily basis, we are faced with monumental, seemingly impossible tasks. There's just not enough to go around to meet every need in the ministry every day. One Hope Home may not receive three meals per day sometimes because someone else at another Hope Home needs surgery. This is why we start and end every day with prayer. This is why we conduct fasting prayer every week. This is why we implore you to keep us in your prayers. We serve a big God who hears the cries of His people. We take prayer very seriously.
