One Million Arrows Vision

"Children are a heritage from the Lord, and a reward from Him. Like arrows in the hands of a man are the children born in one's youth."  Psalm 127:3

In the 1970's, God gave M.A. Thomas, Hopegivers' founder, the dream of raising up one million orphaned and abandoned children to be sent out as Arrows for God — ministers of the Gospel who will make an eternal impact in their native country.

The One Million Arrows project is a long-term vision designed to reach all nations, tribes, peoples, and languages with the Good News of Jesus by GATHERING and SHARPENING orphaned and abandoned children, and LAUNCHING them back into the heart of their own villages, cities, and countries to spread the message of God's love to those who have yet to hear.

Sending hope from the inside out is not a new approach. God sent Moses, Joseph, and Esther to rescue their own people from certain destruction and despair.

Specifically, the One Million Arrows project entails the following four step process:

1. Gather

We rescue abandoned and orphaned children from lives of poverty and suffering in India, Malawi, and Haiti. Then we give them a chance to grow up as boys and girls who have the joy and hope that comes from knowing Christ!

2. Sharpen

At our Hope Homes, the rescued children receive everything they need – food, water, clothing, shelter,
medical treatment, and education, along with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Boys and girls of every age discover a safe, comfortable home, as well as the love of a family.

3. Launch

We send out young men and women as Arrows for God to become ministers of the Gospel who will impact their nativelands. They find jobs, then go out and rescue orphaned children – then take them in and provide for them, just as someone did for them when they had no hope.

4. Support

We help these young men and women begin their own churches and Hope Homes, and the cycle of hope begins again – with once-needy children being raised up in Christ to become Arrows for God who will also make an eternal impact in the world.
