MA Thomas Update: January 2010

Dear Hopegivers Family,

Greetings in the name of Jesus!

Dr. MA Thomas has had lots of ups and downs with his health in recent months. He has been severely ill since the 9th of December 2009. We took him to the hospital and he was admitted into ICU for 21 days. During that stay he came very close to death several times. Only by the grace of God was he able to make it through.

He was given 12 units of blood and now his Hemoglobin is 8.5. Prior to the transfusions his hemoglobin was below 5. Normal levels should be higher than 12 or 14. His kidneys also stopped functioning, so we had to put him on dialysis.

We thank God for the medicine that a faithful friend from Hopegivers sent. It seemed to removed the infection from Dad's lungs. Today he is doing much better. He has been bedridden since December 9th, but yesterday we were able to remove his feeding tube and give him semi-solid food by mouth.

Please continue to pray for his health. Pray that all of his organs may work fine and that he may not have severe infection nor much pain. I am still asking and believing God to perform a miracle in his life. With God all things are possible.

I am sure if Dr. M.A.Thomas was able to communicate he would say the following things:

"Believe in God, He will see you through."
"So Daniel was taken up out of the den and no manner of hurt was found upon him, because he believed in his God" (Dan.6:23).

Dr. Thomas is in good spirits in spite of all these ups and downs, and we praise God for that.

We covet your prayers as you continue to pray for healing for Dr. M. A. Thomas. We only need to trust in God.
