"Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world." James 1:27
When we left India, part of us stayed right there, with each child we met. The impact India had on the life of my wife Brooke and myself left us asking God, “How can we do more? Can we do anything to help?” At Thanksgiving our family discussed these questions and ways that we could bless Hopegivers International with our financial giving. We discussed many different variables, and after speaking with the Hopegivers Staff we developed a long term plan to support the orphans. We found that financially our money is best used to support an orphanage. As a family, we could support 30 children with; meals, housing, education, health care, spiritual training, and hope through the love of Christ for roughly $1000/month.
The Adopt a Hope Home ministry is one of a kind and truly working above reproach before God and man. This is a life changing and impacting program that blesses the lives of so many people, including ours. With the Adopt a Hope Home program we are able to see the children grow up and become laborers for Christ in their own country. Through our Hope Home's web page we can see what the current needs are at the orphanage and get to know the children there and get the latest update on what is happening in our Hope Home. My family is able to participate just like the church of Acts by putting our resources together and sharing them with God's people. The Hope Home ministry helps us to purposefully focus and meet the needs of others lives and live out true ministry.
We have found that the hardest part of ministry is trying to get our friends and other family members on board and capture the vision. If we start with the people we are close with and help them capture the vision and burden that God has given us, we could do so much more than we already are. One thing that my family and friends know about us, is that we love India, we love the orphans, and we will try and bring you on board with us. Whenever the opportunity presents itself we always tell others about the ministry of Hopegivers and how our Hope Home is changing our lives as we are only beginning to understand what scripture says as, "religion that pure and undefiled before God, the Father: to take care of the orphans and widows in their affliction."

It was over ten years ago that God called my husband and I to start our own business. At the time, I believed it was so we could make money to help support missions such as Hopegivers. However the business did not prosper as I'd hoped and we struggled to give to Hopegivers but did all we could. After ten hard years with the business, we sold it and were finally able to adopt a Hope Home. That has given us so much joy and it made the ten hard years of struggling with our business worth it. It's been a privilege to be able to support and pray for the children in the homes we adopted. Someday we hope to get to meet these children and see how God is using them for His kingdom.
God Bless,
Mary and Bill Elston

I've always tried to live Luke 6:30 "Give to everyone who asks of you, and whoever takes away what is yours, do not demand it back." (though sometimes more successfully than others!). About a year ago, I was feeling that it was time to adjust my giving - but I didn't know what to change, or where to go. I turned to a friend for her advice and she suggested I take a look at the Hopegivers website and consider their ministry. As soon as I got to the homepage, I started crying because I knew this was the change God wanted me to make. I chose to "adopt" the Suvartha Hope Home. I love the Hope Home program - children growing, learning, and being nurtured in a home with all the laughter, struggles, blessings, and tears that come from being a part of a true family. What better way to show, in action, the love of Christ. Suvartha means "gospel" in the local Indian dialect of this region and the Hope Home program is living proof of that Good News.
