Can I sponsor an individual child? We here at Hopegivers do things a little differently from what you may be accustomed to with child sponsorship. So in order for you to understand our mission and intent, and for you to catch our vision, we ask you to think about our ministry a little differently.
When you sponsor a Hopegivers child, pastor or student, your donation is used for the person with the most urgent needs that month, instead of one specific person. Think about it this way. If you sponsor little Johnny but Mary doesn't have a sponsor so she can't eat, what good is that? Or when Mary sees Johnny getting mail and presents, but nobody is writing to her or sending her gifts, how does she feel? Isn't it better to have your donation used for the good of all the children? Until all of our children are fully sponsored, we feel obligated to do things this way.
Please read the Lesson on Giving blog entry for a unique perspective on giving to Hopegivers.
Though essential aspects of ministry, our work has an emphasis beyond feeding and educating. Not only do we provide all their basic needs(food, clothing, clean water, medical care, and an education), We give these children caregivers and a loving home with the goal to train great leaders for the future. Our commitment to these children is long-term. Many of our kids are rescued as infants, staying at the Hope Home until they are prepared to go out into the world. We want to give every child who comes through a Hope Home the chance to become a leader in their village, city, and even nation. You can't delegate that kind of support to just one child.
If you embrace our vision of giving everyone a chance, please visit our Ways to Give page.
We all want to feel connected to the kids and see just how effectively our money is being used. That is why we've added profiles of kids currently living in our Hope Homes to the website--kids sponsored by caring people like you who want to contribute to the good of all. We want to do our best to help you get plugged into the ministry because you help make Hope Homes possible and provide for the kids.
Rest assured, every Hope Home is filled with bright, joyful children who are glad to be a part of one big family. They receive tender care and solid direction from faithful house parents and experience great camaraderie with their new brothers and sisters. The kids aren't simply "kept" at a Hope Home, rather they are equipped. Our children are raised with the intention that they will go on to achieve success in whatever field they choose. A testament to the success of the Hope Home philosophy is the end result--our children are growing up to become successful, compassionate, peaceful, disciplined adults.
Another opportunity for sponsorship is for your church or group to collectively sponsor a Hope Home by being part of our Sponsor A Hope Home program. No church or group is too large or too small to be a part of this vital ministry. Your church or group can help a Hope Home no matter what size you are. We have Hope Homes of all sizes, ranging from 8 kids to hundreds of kids, therefore we can match your church or group to the best sized Hope Home for you to help. Learn more »
We'd ask you to consider getting involved for the long haul, because grooming, educating and raising up future leaders doesn't happen over night. We'd like to see each one of our kids receive the chance to grow up in a loving, nurturing family, to get educated and go on to achieve great things. Know that the children love you, appreciate your help and pray for you everyday!
