Rescue orphaned, abandoned, and at-risk children, restore their broken lives by meeting their spiritual, emotional, educational, and practical needs, and train them to repeat the process of hope by bringing the Gospel to those in their own country who have yet to hear. Learn more »

Four New Hope Homes for Haitian Orphans!

In spite of the frustrations and the corruption that seems to thrive in Haiti, there are still stories of hope; stories that shed light and bring hope to the many that are still living amidst the rubble. By God's grace, Hopegivers has been an agent in bringing that hope to many who are suffering. Through our many ministry partners in Haiti, Hopegivers has provided food, clean water, scholarships to refugee children, medicine, and other critical supplies to the tens of thousands still suffering from the aftermath of the January earthquake. All of this is being done through the local church which opens the door for the Gospel to be heard.

However, we at Hopegivers know that these things, while good, are only the beginning of what is needed. To continue our commitment to serve those affected by the earthquake, God has given us the ability to construct four orphan homes in areas outside of Port Au Prince. Presently, these homes now house many who have been serving the orphaned children in Haiti since before the earthquake. Because their previous buildings were either seriously damaged or destroyed, these people were also forced to live in dangerous tent encampments along with the children they were serving. But now these four homes house eight children - each also housing their Hope Home leaders. Our prayer is that the Lord will bless them and help them raise these children up as Arrows for God - the hope for the world.

First Redeemer Church's Kids are on Mission at VBS 2010!

Each day of Vacation Bible School the children would rotate through different teaching modules which included:  Worship Rally, Class Time, Craft Time, Music Time, and Missions Time. Our agenda each year for VBS includes making Missions a priority. VBS is a wonderful opportunity to both teach children and engage them and their parents in missions and the Great Commission. This year we again partnered with Hopegivers International. We challenged the children specifically to help Hopegivers supply beds to two Hope Homes in Nepal and water wells in India! The kids met the challenge and even exceeded their goal!  Because they exceeded their goals, we are also able to help Hopegivers care for the medical needs of their children!

Forgiveness - The Lord's Prayer, Part VI

It is important that we pray regularly over our own minds. All of us are guilty of something in life, but we do not have to carry that guilt through even one day. We just need to pray,

"Forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors."

All of man is indebted to God for many, many things. I think if we could be totally honest with ourselves, we would have to admit that we have not given to God or to our fellow man all that is owed them.

The word debt is an interesting word. When we study the same prayer in the book of Luke, the word sin is used. Sin means "to miss the mark". We will always come up short of God's purpose for our lives, consequently, we actually run up a debt with God. Each act of sin sinks us into further debt to Him, yet we have nothing with which to pay this debt. The only thing we have to give God is our complete love, service, devotion and worship. We also owe our fellow man love, concern and care.
