BEHIND BARS WITH GOD by Dr. Samuel Thomas is now available for purchase through www.Amazon.com ! Writing much of this book while imprisoned in 2006 and in hiding in 2007, the reader quickly feels the heart of one being persecuted for the cause of Christ!
Read about the harrowing train ride in which Dr. Samuel was convinced: "I will never leave this train alive"; the amazing story of the President of Bar Council Supreme Court of India dropping dead hours after revealing Dr. Samuel's location which lead to his attempted assassination, arrest and torture in prison. Read how God moved in prison to distribute 28 New Testaments to 28 inmates contracted to kill Dr. Samuel; and how God used a simple newspaper ad to minister the Gospel to Patrick - an inmate serving a 10 year sentence on drug charges.
“To the ends of the earth...” I’ve read that portion of Acts 1:8 many times, even preached it. But not until recently did I really understand what the ends of the earth might look like.
A team from First Redeemer Church and me, partnering with Hopegivers International, took a missionary journey to western Nepal. We were there to dedicate a church building made possible by First Redeemer. I knew we were close to the ends of the earth, when the road on which we were traveling abruptly stopped at a narrow, rickety pedestrian bridge. After crossing the bridge on foot, church members on motorcycles picked us up on the other side to carry us the last mile or so to where the church is located.
** For security purposes, exact locations of Hopegivers' Churches as well as the identities of Hopegivers' Missionaries have not been disclosed. Photos of Hopegivers Missionaries and local believers have been distorted to protect them from being targeted by anti-Christians.
Please keep in mind that one colony of ants can move fifteen tons of subsoil. No wonder the writer of Proverbs said, "Go to the ant... consider her ways, and be wise" (Proverbs 6:6).
If God can use ants, He can use you in 2012!
First: If you want to be used by God, then you need to become compassionate like Jesus. Jesus was "moved with compassion" (Matthew 9:36).
“Love beareth all things, love believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.” 1 Corinthians 13:7
It is Christian love that enables us to accept and love people who are different from us. It is Christian love that reaches out in compassionate tenderness to people in need.
In today’s world, many are moved to fear, some to feel contempt, and others to outright reject those with desperate needs. I believe that Christians should be moved to compassion. Every person – faced with desperate circumstances – is asking us if we have any HOPE to give them!
We know that the lost have no purpose in life; Jesus saw them as sheep having no shepherd. Keep in mind that there is nothing as tragic as a soul with no purpose in life. In the year 2012, if you want to be used by God, then pray that we may see others live their lives out by expressing the compassion of Christ.
