We want to thank you for your fervent prayers and for the many inquiries about Dr. M.A.Thomas' condition.
"Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me." - Psalm 23:4
When sheep know that their shepherd has a keen eye, a brave heart, a strong arm, and a good rod, they are not afraid. In other words, as long as the sheep remain close to the shepherd, there is no reason for them to be frightened.
Last week Dr. Thomas' blood sugar and his blood pressure dropped to extremely low levels. He was in a coma for many hours. But by the grace of God his blood pressure and blood sugar levels are now normal. Since this last episode, he has been weeping a lot. It is very tough on me to see him like this. When I look at my Dad, I see a warrior who has fought many wars for his King. In every war I have watched him fight, he has always come out a victor.

We consider finding a solution to this problem as critical. Most of us have heard the sobering statistics - 24,000 children under the age of five die every day from diarrhea caused by drinking unclean water. And over 88 per cent of all deaths worldwide, resulting from diarrhea, are caused by individuals drinking unsafe water. This is not just a sad statistic to us. This is about our family! At Hopegivers we send out tens of thousands of Pioneer Missionaries to places that have never heard of the Pure Water in Christ that gives eternal life, but they also have never known what it means to drink safe, clean, healthy water that sustains our earthly lives. Since many of our missionaries who work in these areas also rescue orphaned and abandoned children, they have a burden to provide these children with a hope for a life that can start with something as basic as clean water.
Over the past year, we were introduced to the folks at Sawyer Water Filtration. Sawyer makes a filter that is small, durable, and affordable - yet it can produce 1 million gallons of safe, clean drinking water! For just $50 we can send a Pioneer Missionary into the mission field with the water that brings eternal life - Jesus - and an ability to have clean water for him and his family, along with the children they rescue. Praise God for Sawyer!

We have more needs than ever before this year in India, Haiti and Malawi. Here are some fresh ideas of some tangible ways how you can help the ministry a great deal.
A team of two visited Hopegivers' Haiti project over the Thanksgiving weekend and returned with some exciting news and updates...
The team of four reporters has returned home safely after nearly one month in India. They worked tirelessly and fought through various hazards (malfunctioning cars, cobras, tp emergencies, dysentery, invasive mice etc...) to gather stories, testimonies, pictures, video and project updates from many Hopegivers-sponsored locations.
Hopegivers is sending a team of four to visit Hope Homes in south, central and east India from Oct. 29 through Nov. 21. They will be visiting mostly "off the beaten path" areas of ministry, and hope to bring back fresh updates, pictures, reports and news from the field. They will also spend time teaching local pastors how to use new technology to file reports and maximize efficiency.
I am so happy to share the good news! 300 more children have been rescued from helpless lives by the grace of God and the generosity of Hopegivers' sponsors.
Recently, God opened an amazing door for our ministry. I received a call from one of our pastors in south India indicating that a large group of prostitutes, or Commercial Sex Workers (CSW's), wanted us to take in their children and to raise them in our Hope Homes. Within two weeks, I was on a plane to meet with them along with ten other pastors...

I am very happy that a day has finally been designated to honor and remember the unwanted, destitute orphans on the streets. According to a 2001 report by the World Health Organization, there were 193 million street children in the world. Many estimate today that there are well above 200 million.
Hopegivers is dedicating the week of Sep. 10-15 to prayer, fasting and strategic planning. Our goal is to ready our ministry and ourselves for the challenges ahead and to bring fresh insight and focus to our growing strengths.
With your continued prayer support, we will strive to hone our services to orphaned children across the globe and our communications with generous supporters here in the U.S.
