Mirjana's Miracle...

Mirjana (right), 10--Mirjana is one of the sweetest girls you will ever meet. God brought her to us and delivered her from a near-death experience in a way that can only be described as miraculous.

Little Mirjana came to the Oleander 1 Hope Home in 2005. She was born to a poor family and has 4 other siblings. Her dad was a lottery ticket vendor who struggled to make enough to make ends meet for the large family. Mirjana recalls a tragic early childhood of hunger, bone-chilling winters, untreated illnesses and the lack of education. Her mom brought her here in 2005 so she could have a chance at a healthier life. Unbeknownst to the staff of Oleander 1, Mirjana had a huge, orange-sized tumor on her back when she came to the home. Mary, one of the older girls in the orphanage, soon noticed the tumor and the staff acted immediately. After sending out the urgent word of the tumor to the head office in India, the head office put out the word to Hopegivers staff in America. Upon hearing of Mirjana's need, many locals and HG-sponsors alike pitched in for her surgery to remove the mass and we are happy to say that she is now healthy as can be. Mirjana's smile radiates hope and gratitude as she tells us her story. What a blessing!

Today, she is excited about continuing her studies and growing up healthy. Mirjana is one of our 'miracle children' and is such a blessing to be around.
