Polio can't hold her back!

Crippled during childhood, Seeta is a walking miracle!
Seeta

Seeta, 15--Seeta is a bright, helpful and joyful young girl. She is also a walking miracle!

Crippled by polio as a child, she was barely able to walk. She recalls hobbling around on a crude wooden crutch that did little but cause her more pain. Seeta's father was a poor farmer, and she was never able to attend school or do all the "kid" things she longed to do. Imagine the sadness of watching other children happily playing without a care, knowing that you will never enjoy that freedom. She looked at her legs in disgust, wondering why this should happen to her.

The situation grew very grave for the family, as Seeta's father could do little to care for her. He had to work long and hard hours every day just to make enough to put some rice on the table, any extra effort, time or money was simply out of reach. So in an effort to give Seeta a better chance, he brought her to the Palmetto 2 home in 1999.

Though she was on crutches when she first came to the home, she reports that she has since been healed through years of prayer, medicine, physical therapy and general good care at the home. Today, she walks with only the slightest limp, and serves as one of the home's leaders. She also serves as a reminder of God's faithfulness, power and healing touch! Seeta says her favorite thing about living at the home is "studying and learning about God's work."
